Sydney Harbour Regatta 2020

Ray Parrott’s X-Ray takes top honours in PHS division 2 out of a fleet of 23 boats from clubs around the harbour.

This was Ray’s first attempt in this division, he said “In previous years we sailed in the X Yacht division with much larger boats so this year we decided to enter PHS division 2 because we wanted to test ourselves racing against boats closer to our size and speed.  We enjoyed the conditions on Saturday and came away with a 1st and a 2nd.  Sunday’s conditions were more challenging with an unstable breeze that tested skippers, crew and tacticians.  We came 3rd and an equal 10th on Sunday as the handicap finally caught up with us but fortunately, we had done enough to secure the victory.  Ray said “This victory belongs to everyone on X-Ray, the crew work was excellent all weekend and Robert Speedy’s tactical calls consistently put us in the top group of the fleet”.

There were 6 yachts in total representing Drummoyne Sailing Club at the Sydney Harbour Regatta 2020.  Results as follows;
